VTEC only comes on when the engine is warmed up doesnt activate when it is cold, if you try to it just wont activate because its cold.

Phew Phew Phew!, was just stressing as i have had something replaced...and you know how it is...after you have work done you think somethings up!
GG to your engine.
Supposed to genlty drive around for about 15mins or so before even hitting it in VTEC.
Hope you haven't been fanging your c ar before it even warms up for a while, and yes it is you ( and your driving ).

yeh man i know what you mean lol, Just need to take it easy when it cold when the temperature gauge shows you the car warm than you can hit vtec all night lol
That gauge is for water temp, not your oil temp.

well i have been driving an evo for last year and i kno exactly what its like to drive when the engine is cold and u`ll be glad to hear that i dont fang it around when its cold  i just happened to hit higher revs for once and it sounded quieter....also i have never driven a N/a car when its cold so wasnt sure whether letting it warm up made a hell of a difference e.g you dont have to let it cool down like a turbo etc when you finish a run.

usually when the water temp gets warm the oil will start to get warmed aswell, take 5-15min for it to get warm like you said
