Gen2 Teggy Rev Limiter??

hey fellas do you guys know if my gen 2 teg.. has a rev limiter?? because once i rev jus past the redline the motor changes its sound and begins to sound like its gonna blow lol... or could that be fuel cut off.. some of you guys may have read my earlier post about the popping... well ive always backed off.. this time i kept my foot down and after the pop the engine sounds realli hollow... i dun really know how to describe it, its hard.. but do u guys know if the B18A1 has a rev limiter?

your revs should bounce once u hit it

hey i have a 91 teg, and i've easily got 7400rpm;:D

but i think it bounces at 7500 to 7700rpm??? i dont think i've reachd 8000rpm??:confused:

but i think aznsiko is correct, it doesnt sound good once its being pinged, so i just changed gear, never kept goin............so i dont no......mite be a rev limiter.:confused:
doubt it thou. coz i thought rev limiter where only installed or kick-in only in 4th and 5th so that u cant reach max speed??? well thats wat thought????:D

can any answer if the DA9 has a rev limiter???????:!:

Umm I really dont know how an older gen 2 teg can out rev a gen 3 unless it has Vtec
Mine revs out to about 7200 or 7400 rpm and then cuts and this is B18B2

i dont no.........but 8000rpm is last a final readin on the tach. so yeah......
but i dont think i've hit 8 yet?? but pretty close.<-rev limiter???????

and GEN 2/DA9 dont have VTEC........unless they have a head conversion.

y??dont u reckon it possible to reach 8000rpm without VTEC??

but thats not the point of this fourm........it see if people know if DA9 have a rev limiter??????????

thats because u got more torque, thats why you redline to 7 only, unlike the Gen2 Teg it redlines at 6500rpm, but can keep goin to 8000rpm:D - thats the limit on the tacho, but wat we wanna know if we can make it all the way to 8000rpm? or does it stop @ 7400rpm??? because of the limiter.:confused:

dun worry fellas... its has been clarified.. lol... my redline at 6500RPM... and my limiter is at 7000RPM... and the rev limiter exist on all gears... man.. tho i havent hit it yet in 5th... ive clockd... 180KM down m4 and that was in 5th sittin at abt 4800RPM..

hey aznsiko....... i redline @ 6500rpm too,....but it can goto 8000rpm.....well thats the limit on the tacho.

but i've hit 7400rpm easy, when i drop the clutch in 1st gear, and i can reach it in second aswell, i check it yesterday!

but r we talkin bout hit 8000rpm.........is that limit you guys r talkin about?
or r u talkin bout 4th/5th gear rev limiter to prevent from top-speed???

i would not know bout a top-speed limiter coz the fastest i've been in my teg was bout 180 and i think i was around 5000rpms.
