the qld meet..

look the police can defect anything they want... if you have mods and have an engineer cert you might be ok BUT still saying that they can defect you..

eg for me..

17inch wheels. (ek hatch 16 is max)
pod filter exposed
trye abit bald

but some cops are ok they let you go just matters on which cop you get for the day

Cops can defect you for something thats even factory.

If a cop doesnt really know what theyre looking at and is trained to detect "un-factory-looking parts" then theyll defect you for it.

Thing is you can fight back. And put in a court order.
HOWEVER. This is a hassle, and youll need to pay for a solicitor, spend time in the court, Prove that its factory etc etc.
And if all this happens during the work hours, you wont be compensated.

In the end of the day, a 90 defect turns to a few hundred wasted.

I can only agree with the post "Dont hoon around"

Cops cant pull you over for no reason.
If you stick to the speed limit, even with an exhaust that is not excessively loud, you can still get away.

And it doesnt matter if you have an engineers certificate.
They still can give you a defect notice, and its up to you to take it up with the courts.
Though this happens on the rare occasion. But it does happen.
Cops dont protect n serve. They target and harass. (not saying all do.)

You can get defected for happy pants, listening to ANY George Michael music, neons, wearing those ghey white pointy shoes with skinny leg jeans, fake tan, too much hair product and those stupid white wall tyres you see on hektik VL commos for hommas.

My Nice List:
Your seatbelts not retracting in a certain time...
Head rest is unsecure(broken)...
Tint cracked and flaking...
No centercaps in your wheels... Yes people they are getting bored these days!
Headlights being too low...
Not having the H patten on my gear knob... HEELLLLOOO ITS A AUTO DUMBASS!
Steering wheel pealing/flaking/cracked...

and I drive a stock eg civic.... NOBODY IS SAFE! -shakes head in disgust-

WTF... What's the total amount of the tickets? If it's a few hundred I'd definitely go to court over it. Only 2 you'd really have to pay are the headrest one (as headrests are actually a safety feature) and possibly the steering wheel one depending on how bad it actually is.

centre caps hey, lol

Did the cop ask you a few questions about the car first to see if you were slightly mechanically knowledgeable? If you said that you don't really know much about it and it's stock then he would have been like "ding, hello todays quota" and handed out the crap he did. Especially since you're a girl.
I've been in a similar situation but I kept proving them wrong on the crap they were trying to fine me for and got off the majority of tickets.

I can understand the seatbelt, the headrest, the tint and the headlights but the rest are just 'WTF!'

An EG in such condition is a lot better than all the rustbuckets I see out there.

they must be load rated also.

i wouldnt be comfortable driving around on tyres 4 or more less on load rating than stock

thats why i didnt get the 155\55 for my steelies as the load rating was only 69 and my dc4 needs 86 from memory
