BOO IT

Hey Guys getting more keen so start making a mess of the civic again to get some new fandangle things in it :)
Was wondering about swapping the roof light that turns on when the doors open(bulbs busted and im over the dullness of it) for either a LED light card[PIC BELOW] or maybe even 3 LED sticks or even neons(as I already have them under my seats)
Anyone done this before? and anyone willing to give any USEFUL information. I dont want your "omg! dont put neons in it thats totally lame" input please!

What useful information do you need?
Youre just changing a light bulb and is making the inside of your car brighter..

Its not changing just a bulb... not that ****ing blonde....
I did say i wanted to swap it to neons and shit like that.
Hence the question. The electrics: is it hard to swap from having a bulb to having the power go straight to neons

you think the wiring takes 20 wires to wire up?
"Hence the question. The electrics: is it hard to swap from having a bulb to having the power go straight to neons "
I answered it,

neons for cars should have the power pack all ready to go, 12v & ground, almost rocket science
mounting it nice is how good you are with your hands and brains.
you didn't really need me to point that out??
surely you have a brain?

welll bec
omg dont put neons on the roof. footwells and underseats fine but not on the roof lol
it wont be hard to install that LED card... it really is as simple as bludger has explained it
for the neons :thumbsup::thumbsup:
check out the mods to your FD civic thread, sum1 has installed one of those
LED card things in there FD civic...
but yea 'red' to positive/power and 'black' to negative/earth.
there will probably be 1 other wire maybe yellow, brown or blue
to operate the switch you know... use a test light...
-on-off-door-
just work out which wire has power while the door is 'OPEN' using
a test light, that will indicate the 'DOOR' position colour wire for the switch.
and work out which one has constant power with both door open and closed
that will indicate your 'ON' position colour wire
you wont have to change anything else as the interior light just comes on and off
due to the switch button located near the door lock on the door...

Didn't realise this was a pay out the kid that wanted to ****ing learn how to do something thread! I wanted to learn... Riviera posted what i needed end of story! You sir are the failure! just because someone with no experience in the field would like to know exactly how to do something with a little more detail other then "its not ****ing hard you dipshit" don't post in the thread if your not going to actually give a Detailed response. I as a car owner/lover and also as a female like to make sure I do things properly. this is my daily and i like to keep it respectable and clean! so go stick your horrible responses somewhere else... maybe try Boostcruising... they always seem to have people with the smartarse answers just like yours.

Got one for free from work when we were testing out new products. The light they put out is incredible. Lights up the whole interior with a nice clean white light.
Can get them from The LED Shop (http://www.ledshoponline.com/automotive_leds_festoon.htm) for around $10-15.
That way it's a quick install and you aren't modifying anything as it's just a festoon bulb.
