I disconnected my IAT sensor while the car was runnig and I got a check VSA warning. I reconnected the sensor and still have the CEL. Checked the code and got P0113 which relates to "Intake Air Tepmerature Sensor High Input".

Just want to know is there any problem disconnecting this sensor with the car running? How is this connected to the VSA considering I got a message on the MID to "Check VSA" and will the CEL clear itself over time?

You can clear the CEL yourself by disconnecting the battery, you just have to reset all your radio stations etc.

I was driving around with CEL for months for collapsed cat and the car acted no differently. You should be fine leaving it on.

It has turned itself off now. However I'm still puzzled about the VSA warning.
I have a scanner that can clear the CEL. Just wanted to see what would happen if I had left it. If the light turns itself off then you know there is no problem to worry about.

random stab - assuming your IAT sensor calculates what temp your running and it helps the fuel system control how much fuel to pump whether more or less into the combustion chamber.
