Hey guys, a few months ago i changed my old HID ballasts with new ones and kept using the same bulbs which until now were working fine.
Last night one of the bulbs is now more of a 12000k colour rather than 6000k which it is meant to be. When i turn on my headlights the affected bulb flickers yellow and slowly changes to a purple colour.
Im assuming its got something to do with the ballast but would just like some feedback on whats wrong. Thanks

seems normal to me - as the bulb heats up it obviously goes thru the lower temp range and thus different colours - as it finally sits on its 12k range (purple/blue ish)

Haha yeh but this only happens with 1 bulb. The kit is a 6000k kit. The good bulb reaches the 6000k colour pretty much instantly where as the other takes about 3 secs and hits the 10000k - 12000k colour.

normally its the other way around... like i have 8000k on mine and i have them for like 3 years now.... now they look like 6000k....
maybe change ur bulbs and see if its the bulbs.... if not mayb one of ur ballasts is faulty....

I thought HID bulbs turn bluer as they age, and not the other way around.

This is correct xenon burners turn more blue as they age making less bright and annoying.
