I just had a brand new battery installed a couple of weeks ago on my Euro 07.

Should the indicator light on the battery be green all the time ... even not being driven for a few days (as in 5 days)? I ask because, it was not green (no light in fact) after 5 days sitting in the garage (I don't drive during the week).

Edit: It's green if I had driven the car the previous day, but not after 5 days of no driving.

(My previous battery was faulty and Honda replaced it for free... i just want to make sure this new one is not a dud too).

Thanks in advance.

a good battery should be green
best to check the voltage with a meter
or take it back to get them to check

Hey
Sorry, I should add ... it's green if I had driven the car the previous day. But if I leave it for like 5 days, it's not green anymore.

Should it stay green all the time, for the life of the battery?

no it will change over time depending on your usage

but it should last 12 months

if not you have warranty from honda

green means charged, black means dead..

Your battery might be earthing out, or an electrical fault may be draining the battery while it's parked..

also depends on how old the battery is too.

The battery's supposed to be brand new! It was just installed 2 weeks ago.

Sorry missed that part..

Does the car crank though after being left for 5 days and start?.. if so, you might be stressing a little too much,

If it's completely dead after 5 days, then you may have an issue, either faulty car for faulty battery.. i'd be more inclined to say battery.

But as I said earlier on, if it starts no probs, then don't stress too much, you can't really trust those indicators too much.. they help, but not 100% accurate.

Hey,
Yeah, sorry, a little stressed out. When I started the car (after 5 days), it took longer to start than usual (I actually thought it won't start but it kicked in eventually).

So... the long starting time + no green indicator... not lookin good. Will see this weekend.
