Hi Guys,

I've searched the forum but cannot find anything related to this.

My wife has a 2004 Civic GLI. This occurs every time we start the car in the morning or when it's cold at night.

When you turn the key (even if you flick accessories on and let the fuel pump come on first) and the engine fires up the car keeps cranking for a second even though you've moved the key back. It sounds the same as if you tried to turn the key and the car was already started.

I have checked the spark leads and plugs (All Ok) and the car is serviced when required. I have also replaced the air filter and checked that the battery has sufficient charge before starting.

Before I take the car in for it's next server (80,000km) does anyone have any suggestions about what could be causing the problem?

Regards,

Dave. :)
