How much is it for the original Honda one?

Any third party ones that can fit on to the car?

Thank you!

Hi Kev,

Well i got my CU2 packaged with the towbar and mats n tints for $34,800. The salesperson did mention that I could've got the car for $34,000 if i didn't get the towbar so i'm guessing its about $800 for the towbar and fitting. Having said that though i'm pretty sure third party towbars would be cheaper but I wanted everything to be fitted when I got the car.

Hope that helps mate :D

Call a few dealers and ask for quotes including installation.

Thank you! :)

Yes, I have asked for a quote at the dealer. It's around $750 + fitting.

I'll get a quote from a third party as well.
Any recommendations?

In my previous car, a civic, I think the the tow ball can just be bolted down, and it was a couple of hundred bucks (I believe) it's not the same with these? cant believe just a tow ball can be SO expensive.
Unless i was dreaming about the bolt on tow bar.

Might not be helpful to you but I got an aftermarket towball fitted on my CL9 for $420. (Brisbane - Speedy Exhaust and Towbar). Took 2 hours.

Was that for a removable toe bar? If so can you please post pics?

Yep it is removable, if I am thinking along the same lines as you.

This is what the setup looks like. Everything tow-related you see in these pics came with the $420 (except the bike rack mount obviously). You can choose which wiring harness you want too - flat, round or a plug in the boot that you hang out when in use (worst option IMO, looks so ugly).

What it looks like underneath. You can see the bolts that you would undo to remove the towball.

Thanks for that Chuboy. Not quite what I was thinking, it looks easy enough to take off the tongue, but I was thinking more like what I think the factory one is like, where you pull out a clip and unscrew a kind of wingnut with your fingers and you can pull the tongue part out, so the rest of the towbar stuff is almost completely hidden. I would hardly ever use it, and hate the look of a towbar sticking out the back, so thats why I wan't a removable one!
