hey guys

this is just a general noob question ..

A friend of mine has an ek1 manual CXI

He wants to replace the cluster as the tacho
is playing up (common problem)

which means a new cluster and differ km ..

Would he be introuble with the RTA with rego/pink slip?

of course he would need to keep tabs as for services
and major services etc ..

thanks guys

you can change the KMs on the cluster by rewinding the gears.

maybe try source one with the k's around the same mark as the current cluster

if its just the tacho, you can replace the cluster and keep the speedo from the old one, just to keep origonal k's

fuk winding back.. do the DIY from gio simple... get a gli cluster and take the speedo form the gli and swap it to your cxi and vice versa! you get your same kms PLUS rmp also its plug and play.. 3 plugs thats all...

as a competant motor mechanic and auto electrcian, my past experience at advance automotive in milperra i've just always been doing the old way of winding it back,,, what i say is, if your a competant mechanic then some will say winding back will be easier, it doesn't even take that long under 5 minutes from the ones i've done,, so basically it's not that hard if your competant cheers
