im thinking of lowering my euro this week and im wondering how much i should lower it by. im sitting on 17" rims and i want to lower it but still be able to clear speed bumps relatively easily. any suggestions on how low i should tell them to drop it?

i think it depends on preference to be honest, i have pedders springs in mine, with my 20ies on it doesnt tuck any wheel but it is noticabley lower than stock, i have no issues whatsoever with scraping on anything, tho i want to go a tad lower- will see then!

35mm should be just right.

30mm would be suitable and legit by insurance companies.

yeah i got pedders aswell dropped 30mm i think thats what their site says but i think its more because i, got koni shocks on the front,,

also now that the wife will be driving the euro more than i, i want to buy new springs to put on it so its not as low as the current pedders..

ive got 19's and my front tyres sit level with the gaurds i can fit my pinky finger just inbetween, on the rear its possible to get one saturday night finger into..

PLEASE continue the thread as i would like to know some good springs

pm me if you want to know how to get my springs "not for sale" but pm me with any qu's regarding them.

what brand does good 20-25mm (not eibach to pricey, maybe skunk or lovels?)

3.5cm front and 4.0cm rear is perfect for clearing speed bumps and I have a kit. But with angled gutter driveways your angle needs to be different from just straight on, but speed bumps are easily cleared straight on.

cool. how much finger gap is there between the tyre tread and fender when its lowers 3.5cm at the front and 4 at the rear?

have a look in the post your euro thread a few pages back you'll see my car, rear has 1 finger and front is 2 fingers

thats a sexy ride man. 3.5 and 4 looks pretty good. wot about 4 at the front and 4.5 rear? would that interfere with speed bumps do you reckon

I watched my car get driven over speed bumps another cm and you'll scrape entering a regular speed bump straight on. Also reversing down a driveway straight and you'll scrape.

i got my car lowered yesterday, however all the stores that i went to said they couldnt lower a euro any more than 25mm. some said this because its illegal to go any lower, however tech 9 tyres said the best they can do is 25mm because for some reason theyve never managed to lower a euro any more than that and theyve used every type of spring. anyway i went ahead with it, and luckily after the job was done they managed to get it down to about 30mm. theres about a 2 finger gap between the tyres. i havent got any pictures yet but once i do ill post them up

Brissy speed bumps must be small. I'm lowered by only 25mm and I am scraping my car when going through the speed bumps here in NSW.

I have lowered 25mm all around, driving in perth, good ride height. No issue with speed bumps. But have to slow down to cross over the speed bump.

my car is lowered around 25 to 30mm and i havent had any troubles with speed bumps as of yet. my friends vz commodore is sitting on pedders SSSL springs and the only time he scrapes is if he goes over bumps to fast.

wtf, nsw speedbumps must be massive. I'm fine in melb with a 25mm drop and oem lip kit. most of the time :p

when i got my car lowered the guys that did it said they wouldn't be able to get it any lower than 25mm. i asked them why and they said dunno, for some reason we've never been able to get a euro lower than 25-30mm on springs. strange right?

I'll be having my car lowered this Friday with 55mm on the front and 50mm on the back, i've got 18" wheels.
I can fit just over 1 finger on both.

Now i'm getting worried that it may be too low as most of the posts on this thread have it around 25-35mm.

you have oem kit on your car?

that is already pushing it to go over speed humps and shopping centers, especially on sydney roads.
But would be fine without any kit, i used to run 0 finger on the front and 0.5finger on the rear with no kit and with luckystar rep kit.

With the kit was more troublesome as it was alot lower.

Body is stock, i don't plan on putting any sort of kit though, perhaps only to upgrade the front bar somewhere in the future.

Yeah i hope i won't have too much trouble once it's been lowered. Bit too late to change my mind now.

if your getting coilovers then it's fine you can adjust for suitability.
But if it's springs then it's done! goodluck
