Does anyone know where to get decent parker lights for my euro. I've got 6000k HID's and want LED parkers, however the 2 brands which I've used, don't last long. They end up blowing up after a week or so and need replacing.

Any suggestions on type and where to get them from?

get a good set from http://www.superbrightleds.com/

for a direct link: http://www.superbrightleds.com/specs/WLED-xHP.htm

I have had these in my car for quite some time over a year easily and they are still going strong. Also as they are SMD they are quite bright.

All leds from superbright have built in resistors to help inconsistent voltage levels so they should last longer than normal leds.

thanks mate..

so does it have to be this one only: http://www.superbrightleds.com/specs/WLED-xHP.htm

will the other ones blow up or are they not suited for parkers?

most of the bulbs you see in the above link will work, just keep in mind the length of the bulb as it may not fit in the housing they it may be too long

all the leds sold by superbrightleds have resistors

I brought PIAA 8000k parkers....40AUD....LOL, probably a bit stupid to spend that much, but i wanted to get as close as i can to the 8500k HIDs. :p

But yeah, in the past ive had MTEC ones and they are also good...although they now reside above my rego plates to make way for the PIAA :p

as long as they're not too wide, the length shouldn't be a problem. if you take out the bulb and its little holder, you can actually push a pencil through the slot that the holder twists into all the way into the housing. there's at least 100mm of clearance!

gives me ideas about mounting an LED strip inside...

i had a pair of cheapo ebay LEDs (which cost total 5 bucks or something) and they lasted about 6 months.

anyway... so i got sucked in by this thread and have ordered two of the multi LED (12 LED) bulbs from superbrightleds.com (the bulbs are the WLED-xHP15-T, the longish ones) which i'll TRY to use for parkers.

$35 for parkers? im almost as bad as you tranz :D

ill put up pics when they arrive etc

I had the superbrights and they died after 1.5 years. For longer lasting results, get a white MTEC parker bulb which uses a regular filament. I use philips white bulbs because it came with my crystalvisions.

Did you wipe the bulb clean after touching it with your fingers?

Otherwise, I guess that leaves only the philips bulbs.

I bought my LEDs from www.v-leds.com.

I do not want to steal this thread but how can I reach the front parker lights? I can not reach it from behind. Should I remove something first?

Thanks.

Go through the wheel well liner. There are 3 clips that you have to remove. You can even remove 4 if you need more space. Peel back the liner and reach in by feel.

^ yep i did, however you shouldn't need to wipe the bulb down when dealing with the parker bulbs.

I use the same ones, but they're pale yellow rather than white. I'll try LEDs but don't want to change them every few months. Don't want to go filaments cos they're pretty $$ =/

There was this online bulb shop in the UK that sold the white filament bulbs for cheap. And if you bought a lowbeam or highbeam set of white bulbs, they would throw in a set of the parkers for free. Can't remember the address now, but you should be able to find it on the forum if you search.

www.powerbulbs.com?

I've purchased from them and am using those free Phillips parkers they give, but they're way off the HID colour.

i think i might do it your way as well.. if the new set of parkers fail.. then i'm just gonna forget about parkers.. at maximum they will last me 2 weeks before one of them blows..

The bulbs are 4300K. So don't expect it to match 6000 - 8000K aftermarket HIDs, or even the OEM 4700 - 5000K HIDs.

I actually used Monza bulbs and they're still working (altough they don't get exposed to the heat of the high beams much...)
