Hi,

I would like to know the "proper" way of colour coding the door handles. That is, by taking the door handle out and disassemble it into individual pieces to spray. The steps to disassemble and reassemble are the steps i need to know mainly.

I don't want to tape around it and spray it on the car as I probably wont get the best coverage of paint etc.

Thanks!

Check out my ED6 build thread

This section describes the dismantling and painting of the door handles and rear view mirror. It should help you as the process is the same.

You will probably need the FSM to dismantle and reassemble the handle as its quite an intricate procedure but once you've done it shouldn't be too bad 2nd time 'round.

You bet me to it Peter! I was going to direct kenske to your thread
As for removing the handles, I believe you should be able to find a downloadable workshop manual on the australian honda tech website.

Are you going to paint it? I suggest "yes" then at least give it a good soapy wash and clean with a toothbrush or similar, then dry and wipe over with W&GR, then undercoat, then colour, then clear, That should do it nicely.
