Hi guys,

Just got a quick question.

You know how the Cxi cluster (civic 96-99) doesn't have a Rev tacho gauge.

If you put a cluster from a GLi that has one in there. Will the tacho work??? does it already have a tacho sensor in the plugs which would plug into the back of the GLi cluster?????????

Yes/no???????

i've got a CXi civic 99, and want to have a tacho/rev gauge, thus thinking of getting a GLi cluster or maybe Type r one if i can find one! =)

Because they use the same under-dash wiring for all the EK variants to save costs. It's not actually a sensor in the dash that reads the RPM. The voltage signal that the tachometer reads comes from the igniter inside the distributor. Have a look at your dizzy and you'll see a blue wire coming from it. This is your tacho read wire :)
