Hey guys
Im thinking of changing my headers
Im running mugen 4-1 atm and had it tuned by Adrian at toda.
If I change to say like a tri y style or 4-2-1 toda header, Will it be worth while getting retune?
Is it going to need it before I see any benifits?
Any info appreciated
please no noob reponses, want to hear from actual experiences
Cheers

if you want to maximise the efficiency and power from the new header...yes. you need to get it retuned.

Cheers I realise to maximise results I'll need retune but will it be better with 4-2-1 even before retune?

possbily no as the 4-1 maybe tuned for mid to upper rpm gain. Naturally the 4-2-1 will scavenge more power thru the low to mid range - which if applied , means your current tune may actually loose top end or mid range.

If your not serious about track work i wouldnt bother retuning it. You'll feel the difference netherless. 4-2-1 are good midrange headers

sorry if im going off topic but can i ask why u want to go for 4-2-1?
i gather 4-1 is best for top end hence dyno results n perhaps track or r u after higher torque/power at mid range, Somethin more practical for street?

It all depends on the design of the headers. Some 4-2-1 can make low-mid-top end power and outperform the 4-1's

Main reason is cause my headers are damaged atm. I'm tossing up weather to repair them or get new ones with better ground clearance.

guess it depends on what ur using the car for ?
and where u want the power gains ?
im runnin 4-2-1 ...
on a sohc vtec
improved the performance overall ...
slight gains overall .. ?
interesting topic ..

Damn straight. There's a reason why toilets bowls are shaped the way they are and not like a 2L Coke bottle :p It comes down to efficiency and flow.

+1 to that.
