okay I'm really asking this on behalf of a friend of mine, who decided to apply Rain X onto the windscreen and is regretting it now.

bar replacing the entire windscreen, or letting the Rain X repellent wear off on its own, is there anyway to expedite the process of getting rid of it?

thanks heaps people.

takes a while to get used to how the water beads off and I suggest try to get used to it

otherwise it only takes a mth or two for it to wear out most of it in the weather.

she reckons it causes the wipers to jump too much for her liking, hence she's asking around as to how to get it removed.

you shouldnt need the wipers if you got a good amount of rainx on there

not in torrential rains, like the ones experienced in Singapore on an almost daily basis.

if wiper blades in good condition they shouldnt jump, or tell her to get used to not having to use the wipers.

apart from extremely heavy showers you shouldnt need them, otherwise, im not sure how to remove it.

maybe wash the windscreen alot more often or something?

yeah I would think it's in good nick coz it's a brand new C4. but...

I guess I'll tell her to just let it wear off on its own then.

To fix the wipers jumping, get Sonax windscreen additive. Get her to use the washers everytime she uses the wipers for the next few days and the skipping will go away.

Love rainX

no need for wipers at highway speeds.

rainx is awesome.. if the wipers are jumping around tell her to get new ones... rainx works better on the multi-layered blades you can get from supercheap instead of the single blade.

multi-blade has like 6 a side and wipes dry even if its for a split second during heavy rain

It still skips even with new ones. Skips very badly with silicone wipers.

thing is it's a brand new car, so I doubt the changing the wipers will do much. I might be wrong.

also, driving in the torrential rains of a tropical country would require the use of the wipers unfortunately, hence this conundrum.

yeah the rain in the tropics is way more hardcore than what we call showers here...

How bizarre. My wipers are stock EK wipers and Rain X is one of my favourite things in the world.. I guess it works differently with different wipers.

Anyway, if it's not working for her screen/wiper combo, two steps- she could try a bucket of hot soapy water for the screen, then after that cleaning the wiper blades with alcohol (like ethanol or similar). Or alternative to the alcohol is changing wiper blades.

no its because the rain here is piss-weak compared to what you get near the equator

its ok, but i mean if it was really that good you'd think it would be more wide-spread.

I drive through torrential rain without using wipers. It's actually clearer the harder it rains if you have RainX. I'm talking about rain that would make the heaviest Sydney rain feel like a drizzle.

With the rain here in Sydney, it's not heavy enough to self-clear the windscreen, so you end up having to use wipers.

They sell a lot of it in Malaysia. As a result, many imitations were also created there, like RainZ and other rubbish.

I've got 2 of them there. One is the Terios copy and the other is the Sirion copy. Both are POS. For the same price, you can get a Civic VTiL here.

Do you trust Air Asia?

I prefer to fly malaysia airlines because air asia does not allow you to bring food on board so that you are forced to buy their overpriced food. :thumbdwn:

So.... what does this have to do with RainX? :p

Did you know that Malaysia Airlines is only one of a few carriers to fly to have scheduled flights to every continent (excluding Antarctica).

Malaysia is tropical and there are a lot of products made in ASEAN that are of inferior quality... So that is our connection :P

I'd choose a made in Malaysia/Thailand/Phillipines/Indonesia shirt over a made in China shirt ANY day! hahaha

I'd do the same with cars and food as well.
