Instead of painting my hatch :) As seen here in a rough 5 sec mock up

I've shot off a message to a couple of graphic places but figured its more of a DIY job considering you can buy vinyl rolls in gloss black fairly cheap on ebay. How do you guys think I should go about doing that, any tips?
I bought a heat gun to remove the badges/stick them back on after and also to help bind the vinyl overlay to the car. Atleast this way if I ever get sick of it I can always peal the vinyl away or something.

i remember reading a thread on it before, but i'm not sure if it was here, honda-tech or somewhere else. It didn't sound all that easy, but if you're a DIY kinda person you might pull it off. Just be prepared for it not to look 100% perfect. My honest opinion (whether you want to listen to it or not is up to you) is to suck it up, pay the ~$200 and be happy with the end product.

theres a technique to applying vinyls correctly. lots of soap and water underneath the vinyl and on top so you can position it correctly, and then you squeeze the soap out from underneat it once you have it in the correct position.
Its definately possible, and gives you flexibility to change your mind alot more easily. But like everything, you need to do it right otherwise it will look shit.

Yeah I've seen them do it to the 350z roofs, didnt look TOO hard but you did have to be precise with it too. Some tinting companies actually seem to have vinyl so I might see if they can do it when they tint my windows or something.

Think the hardest thing you will find is following the contour lines of the boot.
Post up pics of process :P

On another note, you know what might look pretty cool? Wrapping your lips with:

Colour-coded with whatever colour your car is :D
