hey all,
just encountered a problem with my dc2.
i have been having trouble occasionally when starting it up... sometimes the car would start fine, and then the revs drop really low to the point of stalling, and stalls, but if you give it some gas for a bit, it eventually comes fine. the problem is during this, the noise the engine is making, sounds as if its running on 3 cyclinders or something, yet once driving, it drives normal, and goes just as hard..

because my idle was weird before this, i cleaned out the iacv, have yet to clean the throttle body, but does anyone have any ideas?

cheers.

does it only do it until the engines warm? i had idle issues (car was idle hunting until the engine warmed up), it turned out to be the FITV (fast idle thermo valve)

if your engine is pre 1995 or 1996 then check that out because engines after those years dont have them

its 99 dc2r. um.. not necessarily. it doesnt do it till its warm, just literally until u hold the revs for a little bit once its started.

not running aftermarket head, but aftermarket ecu... was fine till now

Sounds like a cold start problem,

The valve/sensor is under the TB i think?
