hey im running a d16y4...in a ek... i have extractors, zorst, high flow cat ressy and cannon...also cai and k&n filter.. and bigger plugs and leads...im just wondering what mods i should do next...??? and dont say crap like turbo or conversion please... serious comments and answers plz...

depends how fast you want to go? and how much money you want to spend. You can start changing internals but thats alot of money and your in a whole new ball game.

How about changing the throttle body or intake manifold?
Im thinking of doing this soon on my D16Y

what else can u do? im pretty sure the y4 uses the same intake mani as the y8, otherwise id say upgrade to a y8 manifold. TB doesnt matter unless u get the manifold bored out also. ur at the end of bolton modding. u gotta open her up, new camshaft (if they make them) mini-me conversion or pistons and rods. pretty simple really.

thanks dudes... i was thinking the y8 mannifold and some port and polish and maybe building a y8 head on teh side and making it strong... then converting my motor... anything else
i want to get a new ecu and computer set up... what brands dude????? and how much....?

flywheel is an idea 8lbs or less. DOnt bother porting that head, get a y8 or y1 head (which are designed better) and work on it. plus u get vtec. its a proven fact that vtec heads flow alot more upto compare to the y4 head.

H/Duty clutch for grip and flywheel...

Maybe a thinner gasket for higher compression, dont know how effective it would be on a d16 tho..

Just want to check, ive read about the minime conversion, it uses the head from the eg vti motors correct? So you shouldnt have too much problems with RTA etc. since its still the same engine number on the block. Also the difference in power between the 2 motors are 10-15kw? But more potential with vtec i assume.

get a 4.7 final gear mate! put that on can cut 2sec on 1/4mile desh. :D

Minime = Vtec? With the vtec scream? no way.. i thought it was just compression.. dont get me excited over here! I'll buy u a ticket to come up and do my car! haha
