My car had an ORC Single Plate racing clutch when I bought it and it's never felt quite right.

I doesn't always grab at the same place. Also, when I'm trying to ride the clutch for whatever reason, sometimes it bights hard and other times it's more forgiving.

Is this normal for these sorts of clutches?

There's also a metallic sort of rattle when I put my foot on the pedal. Would that be the throw bearing?

Cheers.

It's normal for ORC to have a sound but not too sure about this 'metallic sort of rattle' of yours.

Trying to ride an ORC clutch is like trying to flick a lightswitch halfway, it's purpose is really on or off, although it might get a bit more forgiving after a while of driving after it's been heated up.

That mettalic noise is normal for that ORC clutch... When they are brand new they make it unless its the silent-model.

As for unconsistent clutch.. Maybe bleed the clutch system at the clutch slave cylinder
