lol if you're too broke than all you can do for now is the basic which is service it with oil + filter, ideally a major service would be best, do you know whether or not he changed a timing belt at 100,000km ? Unless you know the service history I'd be looking at doing a major, which is basically everything under the bonnet, all fluids, ect.
good luck lol

oh quick edit Castrol edge seems to be popular. I use Honda FEO mainly cos I got them for free other than that I would be using magnetic Castrol.

i was thinking fuel filter, oil filter, spark plugs, bleeding the clutch, changing the oil, cleaning the aftermarket k and n air filter and maybe new coolant other than that any ideas on what else would be a good idea to change??

maybe this is just me but i would be paranoid buying a dc2r and not having a clue about the service history. They are a high performance car that recquires high maintance.

Change the transmission fluid. In order of importance:

Engine oil
Oil filter
Engine coolant
Transmission fluid
Brake fluid
Clutch fluid
Air filter
Spark plugs

Service schedule is the same as your Civic. No difference and you can use the same fluids and oil filter.

does the car have any oil leaks on your garage floor?
does the car burn oil? ie do you have to regularly top it up?
