Hey guys,
I'd like to change the colour of my rims to either bronze or black and I'd like to know the easiest way to do this? Where do I taken them to be coated in that colour and approximately how much would it cost? I've got 15" rims atm.
Also do they peel away?
Thanks

Get them sandblasted then powdercoated.

Yep, powdercoating is the way to go. The only reason you would not powdercoat is if you want a non-standard colour, in which case you can go 2pac paint and have them bake it. But powdercoat is a more durable finish.

Wheel places charge an arm and a leg, Your best bet is to look in the yellow pages online to find powder coaters in your area and shop around for a quote. I paid $200 sand blasted and powder coated for my 18's. I had them cleared as well but the clear showed stress marks after a couple of weeks. I then got them redone 2 weeks later in 2Pac which I recommend. How strong do you want the paint? 2pac is strong enough. Good luck.

Any ideas where I can get this done?

2pac is basically a stronger paint than spraycan paint and wont wash off with turps or degreaser.

For black just get Powdercoat. It's cheaper and more robust, plus it looks just as good. Ask around for a good powdercoating shop. You would be suprised how cheap and helpful some of the powdercoating places are :)

ive noticed on some cars that have powder coated rims, the edge is abit flakey due to when they get new tyres put on, does this ALWAYS happen?

I think it has a lot to do with how careful the tyre shop is...

luzinit... my DPs that came on the SiR were powdercoated - I had them on the car for 12 months and they were fine. SO my guess is it's the quality of the job in the first place.

powder coating is round $30-$45 p/wheel. depending on whats already on them. they need to acid wash and sandblast em.
takes about 1-2 days depending on how busy they are. i looked into it ages ago and my powder-coaters said they could have em done within a day
