jsut been looking at this car, looks a bit funny, things look replaced/damaged but nothing is on revs, and his a smash repairer, so im just assuming its been privately fixed and things like that.
car has a full respray, has a jdm front, suspesion swapped with his mates, told me that he needed to get a new radiator for the jdm front, and yeah, dunno what you thnk.. from what you can see, you reckon its been in a smash from the front?
it just looks like his front smashed, and his replaced everything, new radiator this that, and air bag went off

It's too hard to tell looking at photos... would have to see it myself. Get a professional to check it out before u buy it if ur suspicious.

Radiator looks like its on a funny angle IMO.. just by glancing at that photo.
I don't see why you'd need a new radiator for jdm front. So yeah.. possibly was smashed and had a cut+shut done on it. Inspect it closely near the rad. support and sides for any welding or change it paint patterns etc
If you go 2 look at that car in real life, and something doesn't feel/seem right about it, just dont buy it, simple

It looks suspicious to me. Especially the wonky meter cluster. I'd skip it.

I don't think you can tell base on those pics. If you suspect that it's a front end damage, try looking for any welding marks at the corner of the front fender and the front bar. Also, try to steer the steering wheel full lock to one side then pull the front guard out and peep in using a small torch light to see if there's any patching marks there.

cos his an idiot and his never happy with his cars -_- keep your lude dude..
the pink writing ontop of the radiator seems like the type of paint pen that they use at the wreckers, im sure its replaced due to accident
cymax
07-08-2009, 02:23 PM
replacing radiator doesn't mean that it has went through accident. We have to take into account that due to wear and tear of the car and lead to leakage to the OEM radiator.

^^correcto mundo.. but it does look pretty dodgy it doesnt line up straight and he did say he had to get a new rad due to jdm front.. so sounds suss
cymax
07-08-2009, 02:33 PM
^^ Totally agreed! It's either the radiator is not sitting properly on the lower radiator support bracket or the bracket might be broken or crooked.
A new rad due to JDM front is bull man! Idiot will buy it. You don't need a new radiator for JDM front. They are the same.
Anyone who is intending to buy this car must note assess the risk themselves. I don't think anything can go wrong with the body work because $$$ can resolve it. I think what is more important here is the engine and internals are all good. Check the engine mount, make sure that they are straight.

yo to me it looks like its been damaged before. why??
because in the engine bay is dirty but the under the bonnet its so clean. also it looks like the rocket cover is painted same colour as the car and i think theirs a missing bolt on the passenger side guard.
good luck but leave it alone IMO
cymax
07-08-2009, 02:58 PM
The bonnet cannot be as dirty as the engine bay because it's JDM front converted. So it's a JDM bonnet.
There's no missing bolt on the passenger guard. It's designed that to have a hole there.
MWAKU, you might want to inspect it after working hours but in a well lit carpark or servo. bring a friend who has knowledge about DC2s with you will be good.

i don't know why the owner bothered to let someone inspect it.
imo it looks broken/it's not finished.
why is the dash like that? did it previously have water damage or something?

Id stay away from it.
Dont let the clean exterior fool you.
Go have a look at it still if youre still interested.
But for 12grand. lol.
You can buy my car for that much, spend another 2grand on a jdm front painted.
i dont know why. But i get an eery feeling the klms been clocked back. not cause it has the facia changed. Just doesnt look like a low klm car.
The car reminds me of one vtir that was for sale up on here. Dropped around about the same height, with black wheels. Had a rear ender, but the seller admitted to it. Was up for 6grand.
Could be a completely different car though.

2grand for a jdm front? wher? LOL, usually like 1.6k for parts, then gunna cost like another grand to paint the shit, and then labour LOL

Lol thats alright. Mine can be low klms if you want.
With the help of my "made in china" screwdrivers. ahahhaha. Yeh curse my numbers. Did an rta check on the car n the thing had owners across nsw. N in some of the receipts said it was from woopwoop land in qld =/
And as for the jdm front. Theres some floating around for 1.5 i think. Ahh yes . Labour. I forgot about that =]

You have to pay.
Its 18bux now.
Something probably 60-70percent of buyers dont do.
They give you accident history, ownership history, any owing fines etc.
https://ols2.rta.nsw.gov.au/VehicleHistoryCheck/
You need to pay to get the check done. Print it out just for reference.
https://ols2.rta.nsw.gov.au/regcheck/
Thats basically a check you do to see if the vehicle is still registered. How many owners etc.
It helps alot in buying a decent car n not a lemon.
Rta i think notes down the klms now since last year i think. So i dont think you can clock back without them knowing anymore.

lmao did u pay the 18? did u save a copy LOL
OMG.JAI xD
10-08-2009, 07:48 PM
Nah i did it for my mate.
It tells you everything about the car. When i bought my car that check was free. But it wasnt as complete.
This one tells you the insurer, the ctp, whether the previous owners were private or business registered and all that mumbo jumbo.
If youre serious about a car. Youd rather spend 18 bux and know the car is not a lemon than end up on the side of the road with smoke coming out the engine bay, or travelling interstate at 110, n the car feels like its about to fall apart.
