hi, i have a noob question to ask, currently my car has a d16y5 engine and i want to have a engine conversion to b16a, will i need alot of modification to the car? and how much will it cost roughly? and also is it hard to get a blue slip for it? and also how much will it cost to convert to a b18c? and is it legal? thanks in advance!

Cost? How long is a piece of string? Approximately 4-6k pending parts/mech etc...!

wheres a d16y5 engine from? as above, ur not the first person whos done it, so they're heaps of on ozhonda with people asking teh same question so search

a bit of advice.. buy a complete half cut.. that way everything is there. if you buy just the engine/box etc you will be missing those little things like shifter linkages, engine mounts and it will end up costing you more time and money going back and forth every time you come acros something you need. A good front cut is around $3000> plus labour to fit etc. I know an engineers certificate is required if the engine is an import.

oh thanks for the tip, yeh also heard the d16y5 gearbox isn't good enough for the b16a? and whats wrong with wanting to convert to a b16a? just cause i don't have the cash for a b16b neither b16b is really worth the cash?

d series box won't fit onto a b series motor.
