What are those things called, where you can plug them in place of a fuse & they have wires to wire up an extra accessory, & the fuse also plugs into it?

those things are only made so that you car replace an existing fuse of the same rating but it also has a fly lead so that you can have an extra +12v output for a tacho for example, the correct way to fit them is to check with a test light when the fuse is out which side the power is coming from and connect the fuse with the fly lead side matching up (hope i havnt confused you but its very simple)

Righteo. I was thinking it was for adding addidional circuit, so you could place it into an unused fuse spot and create a new circuit out of that.

Hey, the wiretap provides a 12v output so u can add accessories to it. Grounding points can be found in various places in the car (by form of bolt screwed into the chassis) On the other hand, if u can't find a grounding point, u can make your own by sanding down a bit of the chassis, drill a small hole and screw down your ground wire into it.

Hope this helps.
