hi All,

wandering if anyone had this problem before and how to fix it?

Ive had the TACHO showing about 300RPM less for a while now compared to the actual engine RPM. It happened progressively and intermittently- it dropped a couple of times, then came back to normal, then dropped more ofter (i thought it was associated with the temperature of the dash being in summer etc) until one day it dropped and stayed down always showing 300rpm less.

In conclusion - my redline has moved from 7200 to about 6900 on the tacho...

Does anyone know if this is something thats fixable, is it something that can be re-adjusted like say your speedo?!

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks

Mike

check if the wires on the tacho are loose

the tacho works fine though, - its just what seems like the calibration is off...

tacho can be recalibrated. if you open your cluster you will find some trimpots on the PCB they are for calibration of the speedo and tacho.

note: mess with these at your own risk.

ah yeah - thanks for that :)

i think I might get someone professional to take a look at it... don't want to stuff it up completly haha

does anyone know anyone who recalibrates this stuff in Perth?

Ok - found a place here in perth that recalibrares:

Speedometer's
Tachometer's
Pressure Gauges
Temperature Gauges
Cruise Controls
Road Speed Limiters

http://www.aisat.com.au/

after a quick call i was able to find out it would cost between $45 and $130 depending if the circuit board needs replacing or not (hopefully Not since its still working)

so yeah - this is the place to see in Perth
