Hey all....
just wondering about conversions.... got a civic D16Y1, wondering at all if a B16 DOHC vtec will fit in, and if i can use my gearbox... also about the loom and everything else... hopefully a few of u blokes have done this before....
Cheers
Before you get flamed by the more 'senior and experienced members' telling you to just "search" ill jump in and say.
- You can't use your gearbox, Because your engine is a D-series and a B16 is a B-series. Parts are not interchangable.
- As for everything else to do with your query it would be heplful if you stated what car you currently own. I assume you have a 94 Civic Vti?
- I think you can do the swap with relative ease.
- There is loads of information on this website and on the whole internet. Just have a quick search as some people get sick and tired of repeating themselves.

Yes all EG civics can house a b16a motor... ive seen
EG breeze b16a
and
EG Gl b16a
these are the 2 hardest because they are carberated ...
but are relatively easy to convert..
the rest are a bit less troublesome...
As KB said, the gearbox wont fit no. You will need a new ECU etc as well.
But yea mate, search it up plenty of info on here
they mabe the hardest, but they also the lightest of the EGs.
And on top of that no airbags so u dont have to worry about replacing the wheel if u have an accident ;)
