Hi all... I've had my em1 for about a month now and I'm itchin 4 more power already (why didnt i get a dc2?). I've got no cash, nuthin, just debt and i want more power.

I think i might remove the resonator and leave the stock airbox since i dont have a SRI or CAI ( hence, no cash).

This is my question: is it worth my time and labour to do this? Will i gain an extra horse or 2, or will i gain FA? Is it ok 2 run a stock airbox with the resonator removed?

I havn't seen the resonator on the honda
but when i had a SSS N14 i removed the resonator and shoved a 3" pipe from outside straight to my pod and noticed a few things:

1. More responsive
2. Better and louder induction noise
3. Noticed a gain

so i'll say go for it. It doesnt hurt to try it and it doesn't take that long to remove it.

yea, i know it won't take too long, and of course it would be a little louder cause the resonator is supposed to make it quieter. What I wanna know is, will it give me any gains?

If it doesn't, maybe if i ran some piping from the inside of the bumper up 2 the stock airbox (resonator removed), it would improve performance.

What do u guys think?

Yeah it will make gains cause there's more colder air coming in to your engine bay.
with the resonator in the way that limits the air flow.

Strip your interior and get rid of some weight... you don't get more power but your car is quicker :)

remove the resonator, cut the resonator pipe in half, and shove it back into the air box... it'll act as a scoop for cold air... that's an option, also, you can cut out a hole, where the foglights are suppose to go, you'll get more air flow...

Sure, its no secret that stripping the interior will make the car quicker, but this is my daily drive yo! Can't do that.
