Not sure if this is seen as chit chat...but it is related so yeah - Do 'stock' ek4's with intake run high 14's? Just wondering, so i know what time i should be aiming for...I was going to aim to break into 15's! So yeah i guess i will aim to break into 14's then! Or did i miss something?

I had a lil crack at the Willowbank track out the back of Ipswich before I went on holidays, was a blast, got wasted by alot of cars pulling everything from a 7.4-13s, everyone on that night was running low 13s apart from us lol

I'm hoping for a better run come my new suspension bushings, playing with suspension dampening and tyre pressure :) If anyone wants to come down with us in the near future hit us up :) I'm also hoping to take the car to Sydney's track as well next time I visit some friends

I guess there's a slip there to prove it, but I find that hard to believe... Anyone else with stock ek4's pulling similar times?

cool, well that's a good thing for me seeing as though I own an ek4! I expected them to run a little slower that's all..

that's the new update, the reason why i didn't really improve much was because i didn't have a laptop to change launch control,
launch control with slicks was set at 5200 which wasn't enough, i kept bogging on take off even riding the clutch heavily.

so next time i'll be out will be trial and error with launch control settings,

definately hit the low 12s with correct driving techniques

congrats bru

you got that low 12

do you feel everything was optimal on that run? or still room to improve

yeah i just need heaps of practise, i tend to mix and match my take offs a lot and a lot of trial and error throughout the runs.

Nice one guvna

What size slucks?

i'm not 100% sure though i do think it's 205 50 15 full slicks

this time i went out and removed passenger seat, stiffen rear suspension, raised the rear end about 3 inches, 10psi tyre pressure up front and 36psi on rear wheels.

next i'd like to try removing the rear sway bar, rear subframe brace, rear reo bar, and front reo bar, with a custom rear bumper

unsure of the condition/type of cat, and the twinloop may be restrictive vs straight through muffler

get your launches better. Drop the PSI of the front tyres more (and equally). Im not a pro driver in any way , but i got my EG vti with b18c7 (standard ecu , standard header and equivilent intake and exhaust ) around 1080kg without driver to 13.6 @103mph. Ran constant 2.1s on the 60ft.
Just keep going , and keep practicing and you will find a nice sweet spot.

its quite the disparity in MPH though which doesnt account for the crappy launch, just the ET.
Anyway, have changed the exhaust, and engine mounts and probably get a tune before i hit the strip again in the warmer weather

Funnily enough were very similar aswell and i've just changed those feel things minus the tune. My run definitely is abit similar so i don't think it's the car bro just need better on the 60" launch.

Car: EG
Body: Full Interior
Engine/setup/modifications: B18CR with I/H/E
Driven tyre type: Bridgestone PlaYz 205/45/16
-------------------------
60ft = 2.38
E/T = 14.4
MPH = 99.62mph

defos not happy but i guess this is okay for my first time. Since have changed engine mounts, wheels & tyres.

Good stuff for a first man :) Nerves kill ya first outing for sure lol

bennjamin used to hit 13.8 most times out but we used to go a lot and practice is key and helps with nerves
R/T .527
60ft 2.180
E/T 13.851
MPH/KMh 102.08mph / 164.29kmh

Crazy fun yeah?

Can't to get out again

ok guys,
I ended up changing out my dc2r box for a freshly rebuilt vtir integra box (4.4fd) with oem itr LSD and gsi 5th gear
I was able to run a 12.95 @ 124mph on 195/45/16 track max tyres...lol and again 2.1 60ft
I also tried my semis again 225/50/15 advan ad040 which are beyond the wear indicators...
and run 12.7 @120mph as I bogged second really bad and again 2.2 60ft

next time out (hopefully soon), will be on full MT slicks (24.5x8x15) and boost per gear tune...

5mph is a pretty big difference considering the same mods...
could have been my engine mounts too, and the restrictive exhaust but will see in the next few months when i make it to the strip.

Yours is good for a mid-high 13 with that mph, just need to get the 60' down

Yeah doing better than you. *YES* ahha. Went again tonight ay. STill... not a great improvement.

Car: EG

Driven tyre type: Yokohama S-drives 205/50/16
Weigh in : 1190 W/Driver. W/O = 1120kg +-
-------------------------
60ft = 2.23
E/T = 14.3
MPH = 97.2mph

Did abit better than my original run. So many factors to consider too. Wasn't running right damper/psi, shift extender and had 3/4 of a tank. Rookie mistake. :thumbdwn: Defos getting better at my 60" on average though. Feels good with less bog.

Hey guys,
Headed out again 2weeks ago....this time on only 8psi boost and full slicks MT 24.5X8X15
managed to run 12.84@ 110mph with a pretty happy 1.94 > 60ft
Nearly stalled it off the line with the slicks from the amou t of massive grip...
I recently went bak to the dyno to retune boost per gear....
And just for giggles...
On 8psi the civic makes 240kw

Next outing will b 314kw 15psi and my slicks

Yeh saw you out at Calder couple Fridays ago. My mate was racing his white 35 Gtr. Was wondering why your mph was down from last time. 8psi explains that!

yeh MPH is good, my driving and 60foot and launch is rubbish, I dnt have enuf seat time or time to race it and get betta, but we will try...

especially now that our local track calder park is resurfaced and bak open....

fingers crossed by the end of the year we have setup the suspension and happy with how the car drives so we can put some more power into it ;)
