B18A1 91 Teggy OVER HEATING!!!

hey fellas.. help me.. my engine keeps over heating.. i think it could be the water pump but im not sure.. it keeps overheating and when it does, i can hear a hissing sound around the water pump section do you guys know what the prblem could be?? the motor has clocked only 128000KM in a 91 teggy.. im full stressed help plz.. :o :confused:

shit bro. get ur car chekd up.. coz that hissing sound mite either be ur radiator leaking man. coz if it was the waterpump. shouldnt der be a lotta leakin fluids under the car? whilst its running? shiet man. i kno how u feel. freakn my old skool civic did dat so many times. and finally i got the bastard fixd. set me back jus a few jus over $1500. new water pump and radiator.. freakn shiet man....

it makes the hisssing sound where the pump is tho.. not where the radiator is.. farr.. bro $1500..!! #@*K

yeah man. sounds like ur water pump is f*kd. but dats jus normal wear and tear for that year model car man. coz i had to get mine changed around the same kms as u. but that cost me like $600.. so save ur $$$ now.. and look out for ur radiator too. so look for a friendly mechanic man.. fix shit up for you cheap man. :D

dont underestimate Honda parts.

A Civic waterpump could cost 170 and a prelude pump could be 450, their weird like that. call a dealer and get a price.

but get your car looked at by a mechanic as you dont want to do more damage to your engine.

600 was prolly inc labour...

i got a dc2 radiator replacement from hondwreck in clayton for 120 bux...
water pumps are only around 80 mark... honda ones tend to be more expensive thou ;)

It's not necessarily the radiator as well.

Get the waterpump changed ASAP or you'll have a bigger bill!

may or may not have radiator damaged... but doesnt hurt to check it thou...

i got my water pump changed at 308,000 kms so it lasted a while
cost me 220 incl labour at hannys
and if it is your water pump youll see alot of coolant leaking
not just a hissing sound

During the early stages.....you might not actually see the coolant leaking as the seals wear out though.
