DIY: Gettin' Ya Gaps Right!

This DIY is an addition to the DIY I did on gettin' ya Lip Straight - http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=102747

Aim: To get the gaps between ya front and rear bumpers correct!

Required: 1 or 2 pieces of wood and a jack.

Do U have a front or rear bumper that moves up and down and around?

Do U have an ugly gap between your bumper and chassis?

Or just a bumper that simply is not sitting right?

If you answered Yes to any of the above questions then this Mods 4 U!! :D

Having all the gaps correct around the car makes a difference.When someone runs there eye over the car,it won't catch on an ugly gap.It makes the car look neat,tidy and clean.

First the gap between the rear bumper and chassis:

(note,I had already done it by this stage and done it again to do a DIY,so no ugly gap there)

Jack the car up:

If you are doing this on concrete then 1 piece of wood,the correct length will work.

Now,you want to wedge the piece of wood up under the bumper and on this bracket:

Which is right behind here:

Hold it in place and lower the jack:

Put some weight on it and the bracket will push and bend up on the bumper and hold it in place.Wow,look at all that Love and Light pouring into me :)

Just behind the rear wheel is bolt from the bumper to the chassis.Over the years this bracket sags.You can get a piece of wood and push this up to bend the bracket and bring that ugly gap together:

Do this on both sides,offcoarse.

For the Front.Make sure you have those 2 clips on,holding the top of the bumper in place.If they have gone missing,as usual,just use cable ties:

There is the same bolt/bracket for the front:

Get a piece of wood and push that sucker up!

If you have chicken arms you can use the wedgeing the wood and lowering the jack method.

Make sure you have removed that ugly piece of rubber at the front between ya bonnet and grill too.Much cleaner without it.

I Happy you can see and understand what I mean.It really does make a nice difference.

It's so simple...my gaps weren't bad but until I fixed them I didn't realse just how much of a difference it makes.

i had the sagging bit between fender/front bumper it was gay!
but got fixed by a panel beater when i got it sprayed.
