hi
just curious if anything will happen if i drive with my sensor not working..
=\

wil get it fixed when i have time

It will work, the ecu will just throw out error code and properly the car will run very rich, if you have custom ecu then it won't be any problem

Just a quick question, do carbies have o2 sensors?

bublecivic: i would think not

Dude
you need to replace that O2 relatively soon, car performance, mileage etc will suffer if the ECU is reading a shitty voltage.
Alternatively, make the ECU run in open loop to totally ignore the O2 voltage input.

O2 sensor only comes to use under closed loop mode (ie idle or cruising on the freeway)

they do
since the days of ED civics with dual carbs, these cars have an ECU,

Yea they do. They differ tho of course, the eg3 ones are 1 wire, eg6/9 are 3 or 4 from memory..

i found when mine was unpluged my zorst backfired alot and my idol was out alot, like sat at 100rpm aaha so yeh i dont think it can be that good,

EG5 is one wire

O2 sensor is an oxygen sensor

O2 sensor is an oxygen sensor
Yea it controls the air/fuel ratio.. without it... it will tell the ECU to run the car rich and you will suffer very very bad fuel efficiency... trust me i had to once

my car seems to have 2 o2 sensors..

Yea the b16a1s have 2, b16a2s have 1 =]

The earlier motors paired up 2 cylinders to each O2 sensor.

i thought bubble had a breez
why does a carby car need an ECU?
I thiught that was the point of the carby

My o2 sensor used to play up once in a while.. like when i am on 5th gear goin 3000rpm+ for periods of 10 minutes on the freeway my engine light would come on. checked the error code and it was o2 sensor, ever since i dropped in a K&N air filter tho, it hasnt come on. last night i was driving to lapston from ramsgate and the engine light never came on!
Could a clogged air filter lead to o2 sensor faults???

hmm
Crxzzr..
ever since i installed my K'n Panel filter it hasnt happened (drove yesterday. didnt come on)
strange.
hehe

really?
well start a new thread questioning whether a clogged filter will affect ur o2 sensor??
btw..lapston is like bluemountains.. and ramsgate is like hurstville.. just to give u guys a scope of how far i went through... all to drop a workmate home... BAH! .. he owes me..biG time! and i ended up being soo late to work since i got home @ 4am..

i dont drive my car much so i cant be 100% sure yet.
but yea i will find out after i drive for another 100km's to know for sure

lol i drove for over 100km in distance over 1 nite.. goddamit..

Sounds feasible,
Clogged intake system will run car rich, ie more fuel to air, if its rich enough, ECU will throw a code if O2 voltage is not between a certain range.
Have you noticed bad fuel economy under these conditions?

under the clogged conditions?? or the new k&n??
i think it was barely noticeable.. coz i pump up like $30 bucks every 2 weeks and thats about how much i spend.. goin 2 work and the odd cruise..
just to let u know i think that the filter has been my solution.. drove up to bluemountains again the other night and everything was smooth sailing!
