1.8 litres of fun actually, and yeah its worth it, until you drive turbo cars

Until u drive turbo cars haha yeah turbo cars are fun but an eg with a b18c7 is pretty fkn quick hey and soooo fun to drive, make sure u do the important things like getting a little fatter tires, better brake pads is also a good idea, and a suspension upgrade is always good, cos with the more power the faster/wilder ur gonna drive so try cover a little of everything

All i can add is get ready to spend close to 10G's (if ur not cuttin any corners), a lot of time, a lot of late nights on the internet searchin for parts... but in the end i reckon its definitely worth it!

i wouldnt say 10k but yeah somthing like that, if u were to spend around 7-10 u could build urself an awesome b20, picture a 2L type r, do internals and ur headwork and u'v got urself a beast.
but yeah i'v seen and heard of many egz with b18c7z and theyr MOSNTERS i tell u so either way ur gonnah be very happy with what u get and maybe do a build thread man, would like to see how it goes

lols i just started getting into cars and surely dont know a thing.
im just thinking bout driving a old eg around for a couple of months then chuck in a b18
change brakes
full exhaust
gearbox
dash
CAI
and in time i will change the suspension
and slowly change the eg look into a eg6 look.
and its interior.
any ideas/ opinions ?
dont wanna go to pricey though roughly 10 - 12k

is that including purchase of the car and engine swap, or is that ontop of engine swap and car

If i was you i would probably do the following (providing you are able to do some of the work youself)
1. Find manual eg hatch $1-3k
2. Find b18c2 (from vtir) $3-4k
3. Cams, valvesprings, Ti retainers $1-1.8k
4. Vafc or piggyback plus tuning $300-600
So now going off averages you sitting at about $7.5k
Now other things you could do is full rebuild with nrp hi-comp pistons and a port n polish for another $2.5-3k obviously this is if you can do majority of the work.

Just an idea, this will cost maybe $1k more than a b18c7 in total but you will benefit from a fresh engine, higher comp, upgraded valvetrain with aggressive cams and a good port n polish in total gaining you much hp/tq and reliability.
Now this is all rough prices but you should be able to get everything done for around this or less.
For any valvetrain parts just pm me.

Thanks

and im getting a b18c7 engine in not a c2. type r :)
planning to spend under 13k without paying for the eg itself.
Get a EG csi which my rents are paying for and im planning to drive it for couple months (to save up)
then chuck in a b18c7
and everything else that i need for now
the things i dont really need yet i'll do it over time
so you guys reakon around 10k ish ? for engine gearbox Dash Brakes + labour ?
cause im planning to do the CAI and full exhaust and full suspension slowly so i got sumthing to do to the car when i get bored lols

if u already have 10k, save a bit more and just get a k20/24. hell of a lot more worth it.

+1

B18C has got alittle boring for me atm...previously owning a turbo car..backwards steps FTL! :(

K-swap is the only NA way to go..~$14k installed these days?

^^^

there isnt THAT much difference between the two. as mentioned before, the extra money it costs to buy a b18c7 over a b18c2 u could build up the head and get a stand alone ECU which would yield more power and torque over a b18c7 easily.

imo that wld be the smarter option of the two but if u just wanna say "hey, my engine is from a Tyyppeee Rrrr" and have a red rocker cover then by all means, go ahead

yeah, all really depends on how much time ur plannin 2 spend on this thing. I picked up a mint cond b18c (jdm ITR) for 4g gearbox for $1200 but things such as exhaust etc arent cheap either plus brake upgrade is a must which can set u back well over a grand if u want the goods. + labour n suspension upgrade. If u dont plan 2 do 2 much work 2 the motor go with the b18cr... few extra ponies which can be oh so hard 2 gain on such a small na motor. Always gna b that 1 step ahead of the b18c2.

vtec engagement n that sexy sound made the b18c my choice over the k20 lol ...plus the difference in price ofcourse.

I rekon you should go B20vtec man. your missing out on that extra torque. Every tom dick and harry has done B18C7 into EG. Getting so common now its amazing to see a eg without a swap lol.
