hehe just joking- this is actually from the accord sedan and coupe in the US. wouldn't mind that panic button, but the plastic seems to cheap plastic (smooth and shiny), as opposed to the ours, which looks like it has a more expensive, rougher texture plastic........ or maybe its just the photo.....who knows :p

Does holding down the lock button for a period of time activate the panic feature? Some car manufacturers have set their keys that way instead of a button that says panic.

thanks mate ;)

and holding the lock buton doesn't do anything, in the manual *gasp* it states that there is like an ultra sonic alarm :p i guess in EU and US only. Still would've liked those heated side mirrors - i miss those from my last car :(

But if you insert the keys in the driver door and lock once and then move to lock again and hold it, if your windows are down it'll wind them up :D

The panic button isnt for finding your car although some use it for that.

Its for emergency situations where you want to get attention, like if you get mugged or something like that.

To all you euro owners here, just wondering whether the accord euro has the ability to open its windows remotely, ie for a c class, e class, when you hold down unlock for 3 secs, all the windows come down...

yes you can do this with the Euro

to do it, press unlock, then depress it again and hold it, it will wind the windows down. release the unlock button to stop the window.

Why is winding them up so much more confusing and a hassle compared to winding down?!

coz you could get something jammed in them on the way up and cause injury, saftey thing. only the drivers window has the auto down feature but not once the ign is tuned of for that 45 sec period before you open the door.

Ah ok, so I take it that it doesn't have the function whereby if you put your hand on the window when it's going auto. up, the window 'detects' the obstruction and stops and winds back down?

the panic alarm would only work for blind people from my experience you have to be able to see the car and be within about 10 - 20 meters for it to unlock so the panic would be useless as a car finding feature
