hi guys,

i'm having some issues with my 04 euro. The drivers side central locking has started to malfunction.. when using the remote or the button on the door, the drivers side lock does not go up or down... at times it works.. but it may work.. 1 out of 100 times.. it tries to open and close but it just doesn't have the legs to work.

all the locks on the other doors work fine..

any ideas on this issue and how to fix it?

Sounds to me your actuator has died mate, it must be common with this rubbish built car of ours, as they sell them on eBay for $99.00.

just purchased the actuator off ebay for $100.. i was quoted $230 for the actuator from Hanny's.. and confirmed that it's the right part number..

there's only one left on ebay.. so if you need this, better grab a bargain soon.

i'm pretty sure more will pop up,

BUT!

Knowing my luck, they will all be sold out, and the day after mine will blow up.

ahhh well ... didn't want to risk not having any left.. $100 compared to $230 from hanny's.. i'm not really complaining.. really sucks that something so little cost so much though.

Who is "Hanny's"?

doosra
25-08-2009, 10:57 AM

Thanks for that,

There is also supposed to be a highly recommended Honda Mechanic in Arncliffe area?

I've always used IS Motor-Racing for all my cars, Euro is booked in for service there next week

Here are their details:

Suite 3, 28 Victoria St,
Smithfield, NSW 2164

I was quoted $280 including parts and installation.. For the actuator itself, they quoted $230.

however just installation will cost $60.

They open on Saturday as well which is quite handy.

PART NO. 72115-SDA-A01

This is what was listed on the ebay listing and i also got hanny's to confirm the part number as well...

the guy on ebay seems to have an endless supply of them.. try throwing him an offer rather than "buy it now".. u might get it cheaper.. there's 4 more available now..

doosra

good stuff jfaust.. i paid $60.. they're good mechanics.. however one thing that i didn't like was.. i called them before i went in to fix it to get a quote on how much it would cost to just replace the actuator and he said $60..
i then went in there on the weekend and said "how much" not mentioning that i called and he said "$80" .. and i'm like "i called you and you said $60... " and so he done it for $60..

i work 5 days a week and it's hard to find a good mechanic close to home that's open on Saturdays.. that's the main attraction..

Yeah I think so too.

For people needing a replacement, I've found them on eBay.com for under $50 delivered. It seems to be a common problem, so might save other OH members a couple bucks.

I'm going to order one too. Might get both sides to save on postage - $23 USD postage for one, or $26 USD for 2. Sounds like a common problem so might stock up LOL.

I'll probably be ordering next week. PM me if anyone wants in.

Thanks.

I just got my local audio fitter guy to replace it , cos he does a lot of key-less entry and alarms as well , so he sorta knew what he was doing .

I found a place in the US that sells it for US$18.18

http://www.hondapartsnow.com/genuine/honda~actuator~assy~72115-SDA-A01.html

The part fits a variety of Honda cars. I wouldn't be surprised if the guy who sells it on eBay for AU$99 gets it from the US and sells it in OZ for much less than Honda.

I bought a front pair with another OH member. It cost us around $60 AUD per person delivered for both the driver and passenger side. Check eBay U.S.

Parts can be bought from the US for $20 Aus plus $17 in shipping...

$37.... Cheap as...

That guy that sells them for $100 does that. Buys from US and then sells here...

I have run into the same problem I reckon, same issues with unlocking/locking the car. My only question is when this happened to you guys, did you noticed the LED on the remote to sometimes stay constantly on?
