So it's an official honda product? I bought a new FD2 last year and they only had the silver sill as an option (which I had included).

Yeh the led door sill from Honda, which is different from the above link which im guessing was an overseas option came out this year for Australia.

Looks good but I got quoted something ridiculous like $300 for just the plain door sill ....

Hi All
I've just lashed out and bought the LED version of the door sill protector. And, you guessed it - the thing was made in China!

It came well packed, but without installation instructions. Anybody know where I can grab one? I've scoured the Net, without any luck. I remember College Hills Honda having one on their web-site, but it seems to have disappeared.

The set comes with a harness, but I'm still scratching my head on how it goes together, not a simple case of grabbing an active off the door switches. Perhaps I should use a dealer workshop?
Any help would be appreciated

Ta, curtis, I'll study up on it and try for an install in coming days. Instructions are for the Accord model, but the Civic process would be similar, except that only the fronts are illuminated, whereas Accord has lights on all four doors

Hi All
My Civic has the illuminated door sill garnishes installed.
A few points to note:
Kits are available from your Honda dealer - mine was discounted to $180 (dealer claimed retail was $240). There is a catch, though, as there were no installation instructions included. Dealer says that sometimes they are bundled, sometimes not, but made no effort to scratch up one from somewhere, for me. The elusive instruction books are 18 pages long.
Fitting by a dealer cost $169, for a total of about $350.
Something to be considered, if you want the illuminated jobbie on your Civic. The other version costs around $160 and does not require dealer/mechanic/non-clumsy person, installation.
The blue LED looks pretty good. To my eye, both front and back protectors are a little small, particularly the rears, but you can't win 'em all.
Hope the above helps.
