Just have a question with sub wiring to a mono amp. Parallel or series wiring?
This is what I have:
Sub - Pioneer \ Premier TS-W2501D2 : 800W RMS power, 2500W Max power, Dual coil 2 Ohm. :)
Amp mono - JVC KSAX6801 : 400W RMS into 4ohms, 700W RMS into 2 ohms at 100Hz, 1200W Max
What would be best for faster paced music ie Metal and what would be best for slower more bass?
Thanks \m/

Hi there
I believe you should be wiring it up in series for that setup, brings it out to a 4 ohm load:thumbsup:

yup series.
any chance you can change it for a dvc 4ohm? if not then it should go plenty loud enough anyway

If you run it in parallel you can say goodbye to your amp warranty :)
As pointed out, series is the way to go but it will only recieve half as much power as it needs to reach its full potential.

Thanks everyone.
Will be staying Series then. I might have to get a more powerful amp. :)

or you could get a dvc 4ohm(or svc2ohm) sub, run it in parallel and use the 700@2 your current amp is capable of.
just a option down the road when you come to it
