hey yall,
ive had a couple of people tell me the engine in my car isnt what i say, i have a 1992 jap market honda civic hatch EG VTI, and it has a SOHC VTEC 1.5, the engine number says EG4, so im not the most knowlegable on the topic but is it right? or has someone done an engine change with my car? perhaps the last owners obveously.

If it is an import EG4 I think the VTi is correct.
Whereas an Aussie delivered EG4 would be a GL or GLi.

wouldnt know of price but since the aussie eg5 vti is the 1.6 vtec i wouldnt think demand would be very high, most people are doing b16 or 18 swaps - more power.

i would think it would have less power to the australian spec vti being only a 1.5 so possibly harder to sell, get parts for etc unless you are selling to a die hard jdm fan

Well the aussie version is 1.6 but it isnt vtec or sohc or something right?

thats the problem with a 1.5 sohc vtec. takes a little longer to get to 5,500 than a b series...

Just chuck pics up bro we wont judge...

well firstly im working on the intake, i want to setup the cold air piping from the front bar or watever to a nice pod going to the manifold. At the same time im working on the body and interior, the interior is a realy light grey that im not sure i like, complete with realy light purple seating :-/ not sure with that either lol, was thinking of painting the dash and trims, but in the end its only brainstorming!

But fixing the dinted door and other minor body defects is my priority along with replacing the gearbox!
