DC2 B18C engine problem

hello my car has been turning off lately wen i drive and the engine light comes on when the car just suddenly shuts down, but then i try turning it on again but it doesnt. but if i wait for like 10mins-20mins and try it again it turns on?????

Happened to me too, it can either be ur Distributor or your Fuel Relay (which is a chip) or even ur fuel pump. I had to change the Fuel Relay for mine and it fixed it up.

yup possibly the fuel relay - there is a DIY resolder mod in the diy section by ecuman, open up ur dizzy cap for cracks and lots of whiteish powder - good sign its stuffed.

Fuel pump relay or ignition coil which is located in distributor, resolder fix is quite tricky if you dont know what your doing. when it cuts out see if you have fuel pressure by undoing the top 17mm bolt on your fuel filter which is located next to your brake master cylinder... then turn ignition on if no fuel comes out then replace fuel relay. if it does then replace ignition coil.....

yeah i checked it and its look like need solder
but i was wondering if the main relay from dc2r would work in my dc2 vtir?

Same relay, what you are looking for is tiney craks around the base of the solder when you take the cover off.

Classic main fuel relay symptoms. Resolder the connections and you're good as gold (even if they don't appear cracked they can still be faulty).

well my car starts for 10mins and then it turns off and it doesnt turn bak on until like 10-20mins now, so i aint driving it anymore until i fix the main relay

cant i just setup my car so i dont use a fuel relay

i put the relay in and still did same thing,
but my mech mate said it could be my coil module??

yes, I've been stranded in the middle of the road b4 by a failed coil.

had to tow home.

could also be worth checking your ignition contact in the ignition key switch.
just open it up & clean the contacts.
