Thanks guys,
lol, we could go all day about the Mazda vs Honda debate :P
If only i could afford the new MPS 3 ^^;
or a mitsubishi lancer ralliart....
Decided to get a Euro, but not so sure anymore......only manufacturer to raise their car prices twice during a recession which is bringing it over my budget :(

Mate, get a second hand cu2.
Welcome to Ozhonda none-the-less.
I must say, the long debate of Honda vs Everything else will never end, its about appreciating all.
A member of ours just bought a new Mazda 3 (I think) and its noice

Hehehe, very true.
And yeh, i was thinking the same, but i got a trade-in which makes it harder to purchase privately.
Still waitin on a call from the dealer however, so we'll see how it goes.

friend has had 2 CL9's.
bro had one too.
drives and rides well, and Honda's are usually good quality.
And it has sufficient power and doesn't throw a CEL everytime u make a minor mod (damn mazda).
The styling grew on me.
All in all, great all-round car.
They put their price up on the CU2 but you're a turkey if you pay RRP for it anyway :)
Mazdas have low down torque and no top end.. Honda has NO torque but a linear power delivery right to redline.
The CU2 though has good-for-a-honda low down torque and excellent throttle response. the chassis is miles ahead of the mazda.

Hello all,
Just a quick question.
I received a good quote from a dealer, but as it was just abit over what i was willing to spend and that i got greedy (my stupidity), i went and saw another dealer.
Went to a dealer in parra who initially over the phone said they could do the same deal slightly cheaper (i've seen this dealer before about a quote).
So i went in there, ready to pay the deposit on what was going to be my new Euro. But then was advised that they could no longer do that deal.
So i was told one thing over the phone, and another thing in person. But then it was my stupidity for listening to a salesman.
Fair enough, they couldn't do the deal. Stayed composed and left after advising them i wasted 45 mins of my time driving down early in the morning and wasted my petrol.
But all is good, if you can't do the deal theres no point kicking up a stink. Won't change a thing.
So i left, Gave the other dealer a call (where i got initial quote). Found out that someone from the Parra dealer called the salesman and that they were questioning him as to how he can make sure a good deal when they can't.
Said i was still ready to sign, and am on my way. Only to be called back a few minutes later to be told not to worry. The deal is off, the guy sounded genuinely pissed. This isn't his fault as he was doing a favor by presenting a good deal and i understand that. And he may have even gotten in trouble for the quote.
Called the Sales Manager, was advised that he never agreed to the deal. He never made the call and that it was against rules(possibly laws) for them to do so. Yet the other dealer knew i was in parra and that i was comparing quotes as i was speaking to him.
Now, question is, what can i do about this dealer? The thing i'm angry about is that they sabotaged my quote. If you can't beat it, then don't stuff it up for others. I'm going to call the dealer requesting to speak to the general manager on monday. And i've already submitted a complaint to Honda Australia.
This type of anti-competitive behavior can't be good for anyone. Dept of fair trading prolly won't care about these matters.
Now i can only see myself settling for another dealer or manufacturer.
Thanks for listening.
I will learn not to be so greedy in the future i guess.

If you don't mind me asking, how was the difference in quotes?
I see the only reason for contact would have been the legal issues.
To be honest this is the first time I have heard of such thing being done and I have friends whom work for Honda and Toyota Dealerships.
I wish you luck mate.

Thanks IndoStyler - it is actually closer then the other 2 dealers. And yeh, i will probably take a look. My brother bought his CL9 from them.
SHOGUNOVDDRK:
The difference was 4 grand in change over (i have a trade-in).
One dealer wouldn't budge, but had given my false hope. They wasted my time, but i forgave them for that. But to ruin the whole quote from the other dealer.....I really don't think they had any right.
I don't know if there would be legal complications however i figured it was really up to the dealer to decide how large of a margin of profit they receive per vehicle.
Going to wait till Monday and see if i can speak to the GM before looking elsewhere. If they don't take responsibility then i guess i have no choice but to look elsewhere. I don't have anymore time this weekend to look for cars anyway.

mmm, very disappointing to be honest.
Sorry Honda has seemed to turn to shit mate.
I must ask, have you considered a interstate dealer? (something most don't try)
Its more of a hassle getting the car home but if you can save a few grand, why not?

Actually i have, but having a trade-in makes it alot harder as it requires taking the car in for valuation.
And then back for trade-in.
I might check out leichardt and mascot over the next wk when i have time.
Not really Honda's problem, damn parra dealer.

mmm, good luck mate.
I'm a local (in Parra) and it doesn't supprise me.
Even if you went into blacktown dealer I'm sure you'd get a good deal, their all good blokes.
I go there for fluids and the head mechanic there does rrp for me because he loves seeing old school Honda's on the road :p

Hehe, thanks for the tip SHOGUNOVDDRK.
I might check out blacktown if my locals can't do a similar deal.

It is somewhat quiet at that dealer so I'm sure they'd be hungry for some business (+ they only opened up there this year)

hey SP23HO, if you havent bought the CU2 from Larke Hoskins Roseberry, I can introduce you to one of the sales (a friend of mine) and prob can get you a better deal...
also, there's a thread of CU2 prices on the "Accord Euro" section for more info
LOL.. i know a guy in the same situation as you..
He got fed up with all the honda dealers playing with him that he went back to mazda and put a deposit down for the new MPS3.
Anyhow, good luck with everything
