hey guys im just wondering is the b16a2 intake manifold opening 60mm??, hence being the same size as the stock b16a throttle body..
however if the type r TB is 62mm, im guessing it wouldn't be a perfect fit being 2mm larger than stock?
im thinking of installing the ITR TB on my car just wondering if the TB and b16a intake manifold would match up well.
in addition has anyone had any experience with the use of a larger TB on a stock b16a??

it will directly fit on, i had a type r throttle body on a stock b16a intake manifold.
The situation ur thinking of can be equevelant to a 70mm throttle body fitting onto a standard b16a throttle body, hence this wont work without modifications but ul be fine with direct fit in ur situation.

yea, there is no point going for a larger TB if the engines a stocker. But yeh itll be a direct bolt on. But u need to be wary of the gaskets. Best to change gasket, B16A2 gasket and ITR gasket is diff, ITR ones are shorter because they do not have an fitv like the B16a2 ones.

thanks for the advice i know it directly fits on just wondering what size is the b16a intake manifold opening for the TB

you could measure it?
i tis probably over 60mm...
but you can port it out pretty easy with a dremel?
but as stated above, wont do much except make throttle response slightly sharper...

installed on today i think its 60mm.
as for that sizing thing with dremel was goanna do it but the difference in size is not much so my mechanic just left it.
as for performance wise yes increase throttle response along with a louder vtec engagement and more kick when vtec engages however i think its given more of a top end feed on high rpms though..
ill get a dyno and tune later when i get a better clutch...

type r IM opening is around 2mm bigger than b16a (i've had both compared side by side), the runners are shorter but fatter in dc2r manifold compared to b16a stock.
there will be quite a bit low end-mid range torque loss by putting dc2r manifold into b16a, and noise stayed the same (at least in my opinion).
yes thanks for stating the obvious i was asking about the size of the of the b16a manifold.
im still running the stock b16a manifold just larger TB to gain velocity at high rpms.
short runner intake manifolds were designed for mainly high rpm power, which is ideal as to why type R were equipped with a shorter final drive

Final drive doesn't make you stay in high revs all the time - close gearing does that. They gave the type-r a 4.7 FD because it's faster than the 4.4.

faster yes but not in top speed just acceleration ideal for NA cars
