easily... you can fit 19's realativley easy!..... (i had 20's on my car last week..EG civic....just sat them on..no driving ,but mine has been lippped and flared a little now!) 17's will still let you get in really low also! plus the new civics have big guards...so 17's will slide under easy!

your car originally came with 14's? so you can go up +2 inches, i.e. 16's - don't forget RTA and insurance etc

besides that, can you get a 17 inch tyre which won't rub against the wheel arches because they are too wide? just a thought.........

ive got 40 series profile tires on my 17's, still got about a 2inch+ gap between my tires and the guard.

sorry. what i meant was the section width, not the gap from the tyre to the wheel arch

for a 17 inch rim, the minimum section width is 215?

do any of you guys who have 17's have trouble turning at full lock? scrubbing etc? i would think it would be worse if you lowered it as well?

SCRAPN - only 7th gen hatches came with 15's standard. sedans, to my knowledge, have always come with 14's

i got no trouble turning at full lock, however, lowering may scrap in the guards.

yeah 17s will fit easily but they will look small after a while when you get use 2 looking at them. i suggest go 18s if you dont want to go for performance, i reckon it looks nicer and more phat, but thats imo.

17" for racing looks is the best......18" and 19" for elegan looks....
my opinion 18" max can put into civic.....my fren using 19" to his car, really really undriveable........18" is the best man.....not too big and not too small.....

17 inch wheels will fit & will be legal if you have the right profile tyres...

My 2003 civic came with 185/70/R14's, I now have 215/45/R17 tyres on there, the reason this is legal is because the overall rolling diameter of the wheel & tyre has only changed by <1mm which is nothing really, even my speedo is still the same.

However with regards to lowering, I have not yet lowered my car so not sure how I will go with scubbing, etc...

Have a look at the site in my sig or my VBgarage if you wanna see what 17's look like on a 2003 civic.

Hope that helps.

17's will fit no problemo.
I got 19's on my ride, i think there to small though now. If you want, i am selling my wheels. cheap cheap cheap. The amount you spend for 17's will be around the same if you buy my 19's. PM me for details.

Anyways back to the topic. You can fit 215width to the new civic no problem. Ive had 225 width before and a little scrubbing but nothing to hectic. 2003 civic my opinion 19's. Anything smaller seems to small after you've had them on for a while.
Ive had 15,17,18, and 19. I want to go bigger :) but its all about your personal preference.
