its boiling because you have the radiator cap off bro....

what happens is the rad cap keeps the cooling system pressurised
in turn stops it from bubbling/boiling you taking the cap off causes it to boil..

rad caps do hav a spring system on them setup to release fluid into the overflow at
a certain temp and sucks it back as it cools down...

how to stop it - put the cap back on

change from water to coolant if you only got water in there... transfers heat better

i thought bubbling because your head gasket is going

OMG.JAI xD

Either your cooling system isnt bled properly.

Or your head gasket is about to shit it self.
Sooner or later, youll start seeing heaps of white smoke come out of the exhaust.

Taking the cap off will only 'cause' boiling if the coolant temp is over 100°C.

The car may have a blown head gasket. Do the rad hoses seem to get very hard (i.e. internally pressurised) when the engine comes up to temp? Are you losing coolant? Do you have any creamy deposits on the underside of the oil filler cap or in the cooling system? Does the engine ever overheat? Any steam or water coming from the exhaust?

Sounds like a head gasket problem, does your over flow bottle fill up as well, usually this will happen also when head gasket is gone....

instead of assuming anything. why don't you just go get it tested, no one can tell you specifically what's the problem all they can do is assume, and your just going to fix one thing after another, do it once, and do it right, if you have these tools, give it a go, pressure test the cooling system, pressure test the radiator cap, have a feel of the radiator hoses signs of cracking, or leakages, if you think you have a blown headgasket, take spark plug 1 off, making sure its top dead centre, and crank it, if it's headgasket you should be seeing water, warm up the motor, see if thermostat kicks in by leaving the radiator cap off, and seeing it the coolant flows,

You may or may not see water in a cylinder, but if you do it can be in any of them, not just No1.

radiator might just be a blocked

Yeah go and get it tested properly they can test to see if you have combustion gases in your coolant.

had a problem with that before i lost the car for 3 wks..

radiator was boiling..temp was way up..head gasket blue..but i couldnt stop the car, and had to take it to get quotes and shit..so kinda killed the engine more.
but yea, sounds like the head gasket is gona die..
btw mine is a 94 dc2 vtir..

get it checkd asap..prevent more damage..atm just run the car with the heater on as it opens an extra cooling system, but stop the car when the temp starts to go up again..then cool down. and start driving again.

i had a problem recently with temps creeping up and the radiator bubbling, turned out the thermostat was stuffed, the temp gauge was going crazy, either the thermostat or head gasket, either way fix it quick otherwise engine too....

my car does not overheat . the oil is not creamy due to a blown had gasket . just serviced the radiator cleaned out the core and welding a leak . one thing that is funny i drive 20 mins the temp gauge is still on cold takes ages to go to normal operating temperature and it drops to cold but never overheats .

Sounds like the thermostat is stuck open.
