My car has 284,000km on the clock, what should i be doing to make sure it stays alive?
and also my car brakes normally but if you are at a traffic light or stopped for awhile the brake pedal slowly starts to go to the floor and the car starts rolling.... any ideas on the problem?? or would a good flush of brake fluid suffice?

yeh I would suggest flush of brake fluids and re-bleed dude.. pretty dangerous to drive like that what would happen if they just decided to fail when you are driving :O
as for keeping it alive, get a mechanic to do a full engine check if you do not know the history of the car.. he may point out a few things are on their way out and you should replace them before you end up with a hefty repair bill sometime down the track

the brakes are a worry although it still passes brake inspections easily guess they don't stop at traffic lights...
ive owned the car from 220,000km's, only thing im concerned about is the timing belt, would now be a good time to replace it??
next service...the list so far is, oil, oil filter, spark plugs n leads, gearbox oil, brake fluid, coolant, rocker cover n spark plug gaskets....
anything else i missed?

Sounds good to me.. I got all what you just described replaced when I bought my car with 240xxx kms... The timing belt needed to be replaced along with al the gaskets ended up being 500 bucks for parts n labour :O but yeah its all good now
Good luck with your mighty honda!

Sinking brake pedal, look at the master cylinder. Sister's DC4 had same symptom, fixed with a new BMC from Honda.
