I recently replaced all interior lights with ICELED products (yes I know its rice) all went sweet apart from the conveniance light on the passengers side door.

The issue seems to be with the -ve wire to the light.
When installing the light stopped working. Checked with a multimeter with prongs on +ve and -ve wires. Nothing.

Checked again with a testlight -ve earthed to door frame and sure enough there is power to the positive wire.
Cause I needed the car for a show the next day i did a dodgey and wired ICELED with -ve to earth and bypassing actual -ve wire for light.
Worked sweet as, but obviously it doesnt switch with the door.

My question is does anybody have any idea how the switching works on the conveniance lights?
Why would it stop working?
The -ve wouldnt be fused would it?

Any ideas or sugestions, and I have fitted the original globe back in and it doesnt work either.
Drivers side is fine.

cheers

if the +ve still works then I doubt you blew the fuse for that power supply. I am not sure if the -ve is fused but if you plugged in the original bulb and it doesnt work, I would say the -ve is screwed somewhere. Maybe check the fuse box for a diagram and check to see if their is a fuse that is blown somewhere?

Yep the -ve is screwed somewhere that i can confirm. (+ve definatley has power)

Its just got me buggered how I can stuff up a -ve wire. Hmm

maybe check that the wire isnt frayed or cut somewhere? It can happen.
