im having a bet with this stupid india guy i work with. he is driving a magna 93 with like air filter and some other 1st stage mods. after told i told him i have a civic hatch, he said his car gonna rape me. i was like no way~~ :mad:

Hmmm dunno. Does your car have a B16A? Is his Magna a V6? The thing about Magna's is they generate good torque so off the line he should own you. Once your VTEC kicks in though you should get him in the end. It's really hard to say, if your SiR is a stocky then it should be running in the mid 15's and I can't see a Magna doing that time even with the mods you have listed.

Some 93 Magnas also came with the 2.6 Astron 4 cyl I think, albeit refined and revised alot from the earlier shape square Magnas. If it is the 2.6 4 cyl, you'll own his ass.

what does the 93 magna have??? ive already raced my b16A jap spec eg sedan against my friends 2001 magna V6... we about the same at the start coz of power weight, but those thing build alot of speed mate, simply coz its a v6, start should be close then he should eat u up like a fat kid and his muffin

That's because the current magna is so f*cking ugly it hides it's face and never comes out. I can't believe they went from a stylish sedan to a POS piece of crap in one cosmetic revision.

Good call, the front doesn't match the rear. Really round like a 350Z at the front and as square as a VZ Commodore at the back. I must admit though the Ralli Art Magna and new VRX's go quite well. Still ugly though.

I bolted an Astron 2.6 into my '78 Chrysler/Mitsubishi Scorpion - modified the inlet manifold and bolted on a turbo (well not quite bolted on - internals were rebuilt and a decompression plate was added plus accessories etc)... 220bhp @ RW. Tops motor, but I dunno how reliable it was - I had 13000 kms on the motor and it was going strong - but I didn't bump the boost at all over what it was set at when the conversion was done. I don't mind the Astron at all... heheh... it's not like it's a Holden Starfire motor :D

There used to be an awesome 1G Magna that ran the 1/4 - can't remember what it did though.

I'm well versed in Magna Cars from 2nd to current gen...

A 93 will be a TR/TS model, most like a four cylinder unless it's in the Verada trim

Considering he has stage one mods.. which most likely means the intake and exhaust.. Possibly including cams (Yes they have cams for magnas).. your car will lose to him if it's a stockie.. and possible even too with the magna being an auto..

If it's a V6.. Well... I put my money on the magna...

Then again, like I will always say, the better driver wins...

There have been cases where the Astron is a POS but I kid u not.. they have potential if done properly..
