When does the white smoke occur? All the time or only when the engine is cold? Is it constantly a white smoke? Does it appear blue, black or gray after a while/at all? As from what I've read blue smoke indicates oil burning, excess fuel creates a black smoke and a gray smoke is caused from a lack of fuel.

If it is purely white smoke whilst the car is cold, I would assume it would be condensation which usually stops after the car has warmed up. That said if it's still producing the white smoke after the car is fully warmed up it may be a head gasket problem from what I've read.

I'm not 100% sure, I could be wrong, but best of luck man.

White smoke is usually water. Meaning your head gasket is likley to have shat itself. Are you topping up the radiator every other day?

i have driven behind a few civics recently like EG/EKs and noticed they puff white smoke like all the time while accelerating...it's weird

saw another EG a few nights but that one was fully puffing out grey/black smoke for the 2-3kms i was following him..

the smoking was nothing massive..it just hangs down around the rear bar/exhaust

Are you sure it wasnt just steam......

pretty sure it wasn't steam...happened under acceleration only. i've only ever seen civics (EM1/EK/EGs) puff that type of white smoke, maybe with a very light grey tint.

just curious as to what causes white smoke under acceleration if it's not a head gasket problem..

well i assume those civics didn't have head gasket problems:P..they seemed to be modded/tuned.

Water is being off burnt by the engine temp due to the gasket leaking, your gasket is prob on its way out or already gone.

You noticed a decrease in power lately? using more fuel etc?

i can tell u head gasket prob from experience
- loss of power
- idle, car revs up and down, or abnormal, car shakes harder than usual
- when starting off from start, car shakes badly asif about to stall even tho ur foot work is normal
- overheating ofcorse
- thick white/blue smoke coming from exhaust when starting from idle, and gradually will appear whilst driving too.
