hi guys,

just wondering if anyone has experienced this problem before. After i installed the short ram intake on my dc2r and went for a test drive i realised that when i accelrate abit harder than usual: the air filter makes a whistle noise for a few seconds. but when just driving normal, i dont hear it? if anyone has experienced this before or have any suggestions, that would be great

it doesnt make the whistling noise when i use the stock airbox. so is there a way to stop the whistling noise?

lol.its normal just the air filter. Turn on the car and have a listen to the pod. It should be whistiling all the time. Whistles louder wen you tap on the accellerator after idle.

im actualli not talking about the sound of the air filter sucking air. im actually talking about whistling when u tap the accelerator. but if its normal than :S

the noise is resonance. Not directly from teh air filter....but from somewhere in the pipe itself that leads to the TB. Could be the PCV intake or a mixture f things. But its very common.

I can hear mine even with the stock airbox cover on, just not as loud. i have a stock exhaust so i can hear everything

yup - hence why a standard intake system consists of 2 sometimes three resonators to remove all types of intake noise.

its normal when u upgrade air intake system or change the filter.
u can hear it even more if you remove the resonator.
