Hello people.

Today just by chance a friend of mine watched me when I was parking after the lunch and he has noticed that my back-up light does not light when I am going in reverse. I thought this would be a small false bulb problem. When I came home I immediately started to fix the faulty bulb. It turns out that there is nothing wrong with the bulb neither with the fuse. I checked in the manual and it says that the fuse for the Back-up Light is fuse number 7 in the interior fuse box (10A). I changed the bulb AND the fuse with a new ones and no success.

What could be the problem? Can I fix it by myself or should I go to the dealer?

Thanks!

P.S. I have one back-up lights. On the other side is the rear fog light.

Are you in Australia?
because here all Euro's are 2.4ltr CL9's

In Japan the 2.0ltr CL7 is the Euro-R
but I know some countrys like the UK have the 2.0ltr as well (but not Euro-R)

I am in Europe. We have 2.0 CL7 and 2.4 CL9 here. Besides the tail, brake and turn lights I have a rear fog light on the left side and back-up light on the right. I do not think the problem is related to two or one back-up light. It is something more... general.

Are both reverse lights not working or just one? I would check the reverse gear switch at the gearbox.

I have only one reverse light and this is the only thing that does not light.
Where is this switch? If it is easy to access I will try to examine and fix it. Currently I have no time to go to the dealer, but on the other hand I could be fined because of this.

Strange thing is that the parktronic works well. Either they are not sharing the same switch with the back-up light or the problem is somewhere else. It seems no one has ever faced this problem. Probably the best thing to do is go to the dealer.
