hey guys i wanna put in a new head unit it has the original head unit in it and i was wondering what special cords if any i will need.

depends, if u simply changing the headunit, u will need to redo some wiring at the back of the HU because Honda plugs dont fit aftermarket units. All wiring looms will be provided with the new unit. If unsure, best to give it to a shop to do.

You should be able to get a conversion plug, that connects to the Honda wiring and to your new headunit. Auto parts stores like SCA sell them. They are made by AeroPro.
So if you have a 1991 Civic, the correct adapter to connect to, say, a Sony headunit, would be "APP8SP"
